Carol Carr

Carol is a highly specialist neurological physiotherapist. She has practised in neurology for over 30 years working in a range of settings but with a specific interest in rehabilitation.

Carol initially worked in West Yorkshire, where she received her training, then returning south to work at Epsom District Hospital. From there she moved to work at Harrowlands, a specialist neurological rehabilitation centre in Dorking and whilst there, she was involved in the early days of heads up! helping to establish its reputation in the local area.

For many years, Carol worked as Head of Therapies at Queen Elizabeth Foundation’s Care and
Rehabilitation Centre in Banstead and then Leatherhead, when they moved location. Carol was able to use her expert clinical skills and knowledge of neuro-rehabilitation to develop services for those with neuro-disability.

Carol is trained in the Bobath Concept to an advanced level and has supported people following neurological injury or disease for the past 30 years. She is always keen to actively involve her clients in the rehabilitation process and focuses on what’s most important for the people she treats. She has a holistic approach to treatment and incorporates all aspects of a person’s needs into the rehab process.

More recently, Carol has trained in the use of acupuncture to augment her treatment portfolio and has had great success in using it for pain relief the management of tight and overactive muscles and vestibular clients.
