My daughter, who has Cerebral Palsy, was referred to Heads Up! because her mobility was deteriorating rapidly and she was having frequent falls. Regular physiotherapy with this excellent team, and some orthotic input, has transformed her gait, balance and confidence. She continues to improve and I cannot thank the Heads Up! Team enough for their expertise, dedication, care and encouragement.

Dr. Jessica Pocock

We are so grateful to the Heads Up team for everything they have done for us. Helen has gone above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and Emma has gone out of her way to make sure we could keep our appointments. They are incredibly passionate, hard-working, and phenomenally professional. We know we are in good hands and don’t know where we would have been without them.

After starting physio with heads up, we noticed progress and improvements almost immediately. Helen’s guidance, experience and hands-on approach has encouraged my husband to work harder and persevere. Emma’s approach is dynamic and creative and is eye opening to the many different things we can do. Seeing them was not only a confidence boost for my husband but also was very rewarding with his physical progress. We would also like to thank Sally for her patience with us as well as her kindness!

The Heads Up team is wonderful and we can not thank them or recommend them enough for what they have done for us and what they continue to do for others every day.

I have been attending Heads-up! for just over 6 months now and look forward to every session and always come out on a high. I have left side weakness following paralysis that side due to a stroke. I call my physiotherapist a magician. Slowly each week she wakes up muscles which have been dormant since my stroke. Sometimes it might be a few weeks before I suddenly realise I can do something I want able to do before. It’s truly amazing. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

Headsup have been very professional from the very start of my first session of stroke rehab, and have continued to do so to get me back to my old self. Every session I attend, we are seeing improvements and good progress! This is testament to my physio Claire Mattei who always thinks outside the box and is a pleasure to work with. If you’re looking for stroke or neurological physiotherapy, look no further you will be in great hands.

Stroke

I have noticed a massive change since coming to heads up! It takes a long time, the foot work and core strength have really helped. The work on my feet means, I can now move my feet more, walking is smoother. When I first came to heads up! I could stand for about an hour and now I can stand for four hours a day.   I’m more on my feet now; beforehand it felt like muscles that needed to be activated. I’m getting looser and getting stronger.

My physiotherapist Claire has referred me to all the right people and has given me a second chance.

Cerebral Palsy

I had my first stroke when I was twenty and over the years suffered four more. During this period I have received some excellent physiotherapy but also some that has not helped me at all. Unfortunately, neuro physiotherapists were extremely sparse when I had my first stroke.

I haven’t had any more strokes but recently my right side has felt heavy and become increasingly stiff. I couldn’t move as well as I have done so decided to research private neuro physiotherapy in my area. I found heads up! and can honestly say it is brilliant. The physiotherapist actually listens to my needs and uses a ‘hands on’ technique, manipulating each part of my body in a gentle manner. I can say I feel the difference and enjoy going to the sessions.

heads up! has helped me to regain my confidence, they offer a truly wonderful therapy for people who have suffered strokes.

Stroke

In December 2009 I suffered a major stroke affecting my left side, I was hospitalised followed by rehabilitation in The Bradley Unit until March 2010. I received excellent care here and after a lot of hard work they managed to get me to walk with the aid of a splint and stick, although very limited.

Unfortunately due to funding the NHS can only provide limited time for physiotherapy per person, when it finished both myself and wife felt totally lost and rather panicky. We didn’t want to lose the progress I had made.

My wife searched the internet and found heads up! after reading the testimonials and how they had helped other people we felt we had been handed a lifeline and although quite a drive from where we live felt we had nothing to lose and arranged an appointment. When I first arrived my posture and balance were very poor and I could not move my neck to the left, generally my whole body was out of alignment.

All the therapists have been superb and over the years have managed to re- align my body, my posture is better and I have been encouraged to walk with a pole. My confidence is improving, which is thanks to the therapists and the assurance they have given me.

Stroke recovery is slow and I still have a way to go but I am so glad we found heads up! as without them I would not have made the improvements I have today.

Stroke

I found heads up! through an online search, the treatment looked like it would follow on from my rehab and be specific to my condition. At my first session, nearly 3 years after my stroke, I was walking a little with the aid of a tripod stick and used a wheelchair outside of my home. Now I am more confident, have muscle bulk on my right side and don’t have one puny leg. I can walk short distances on level ground with a monopod stick and pleased to say hardly use my wheelchair.

Last year I had a fall and my recovery was definitely speeded up by my general improved fitness and balance. What has really helped is the top to toe work on all aspects of my stroke affected side, the left too has improved my posture and balance, giving me more independence day to day. Specialist neuro physiotherapy means that treatment has been tailored to my condition and gradual improvements are seen all the time.

The therapists have been lovely and good friends, to both me and my partner, involving her in all my sessions. I have been so pleased with my progress, other therapists I have seen only focus on one aspect (e.g. hand) but heads up! is much more holistic and all the better for it. Thank you!

Stroke

I was recommended to heads up! by my orthotist who introduced me to neurological-physiotherapy. After many years of conventional physiotherapy the heads up! team created a programme which has been very beneficial to my needs and has improved my life massively. The neurological physiotherapists that have been working with me have been extremely supportive and understanding. Back in the summer I injured my leg, the local hospital took a long time to diagnose the problem. My specialist neurological physiotherapist worked extremely hard to support me and get me mobile again to which I cannot thank her enough. I would strongly recommend heads up! stroke and neurological physiotherapy to anyone with a neurological condition as they are fantastic!
